By the Still Waters

This picture reminds me of a time my wife and I were on vacation. We were down near San Antonio, Texas. Barbie and I along with a friend had decided to go tubing down a river.

By all rights, this company should have waited a little longer before sending customers down this river. The reason was that it had just finished raining a couple of days prior. The runoff was just getting to the river. That being said this river was at flood stage.

I had gotten myself into some trouble and found myself without an inner tube. Now I am in a raging river without any means of keeping myself afloat. Barbie, understandably, was very worried. My only option at this point was to hang on to her inner tube and try to make back.

After about 10 minutes of this, we noticed my inner resting in a shallow and small bay along this river. It resembled much like the photo above. It was at this moment Psalms 23 came to mind.

Psalms 23:1-2, "The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me besides still waters."

If this touched you today, please let me know. I am selling this picture. It comes without the watermark. The price depends upon the size wanted.

Sincerely,

David A. Kitchens, Editor
