Beware of E.A.R. in your ears!

One of the hardest things in the world to combat is "Evidence Appearing Real" (E.A.R.). It "seems" real. It "seems" as though they have thoroughly researched the issue at hand.

There may be times in which the "appearance of truth" seemingly coincides with everything you have been raised to belief. I share the following story in the hopes of waking people up to this possibility.

Disclaimer: As always, my stories are true. I have changed certain aspects of the story to protect those involved. At no time will I divulge the parties involved.

Several years ago a man shared this story with me. It took place in the Sewage Maintenance Department of a certain city. It was their job to clean, maintain, and repair the city sewer lines. One of the biggest lines that feeds the treatment plant came from a Prison. There are times in which this line will leak and even break. Since it is a major line it is quite large. When it leaks or even break, it is a definite emergency. This City got a call to say that it was leaking. The emergency crews were called in.  The Crew Chief call their helper. The helper complains early in the day that he was feeling quite sick and wondered if they could find someone else to take his place. The Crew Chief heard of the rumor that this guy was a "trouble maker". She dismissed his claims of feeling sick. The call went into the City around 10:00 a.m. They got to the site to actually start working around 6:00 p.m. The company they use to pump the sewage had trouble rounding up a crew to assist us. All this time, this guy was getting sicker. By the time they got to the site and started working on the line itself, this guy could barely move much less function. This guy was in the hole tightening up a clamp on the line when he vomited. By this time several "big name" people within this City were at the sight. When they saw this guy vomit in the hole, several uncomfortable questions were immediately raised. When asked why wasn't he replaced early on in the day, the Crew Chief responded that she wasn't aware of her helper being sick. This guy flat out calls her a LIAR! Needless to say she got into trouble.

It was about a year later she got promoted to a leadership position. She immediately started "documenting" several actions in an attempt to get this guy fired. All attempts to defend himself only made him look even more guilty.

At no time will I give specific details that mentions specific cities, companies, or names of the people involved. Let it suffice to say that when dealing with (E.A.R.) evidence appearing real, it behooves you to get both sides of the story. Some of the shrewdest people you can come across use just "enough" truth to get their point across, but not the "full truth" which would expose their deceit!

Sincerely,

David A. Kitchens, Editor
